Welcome to my website.
Firstly let me tell you a bit about my journey so far in the health and fitness industry.
I have been working in the fitness industry for over 17 years, originally starting at Sparta Health Club as a fitness instructor.Over a few years I gained valuable industry knowledge and decided I wanted to work with clients more regularly and with more focus. This saw me side step into Personal Training. From there I took over management of the gym, (renaming it Sparta Health & Fitness), and spent 4 years dedicating myself to growing the gym, through a friendly, professional and highly polished service. During this time I maintained my Personal Training clients and also spent time still working the floor and teaching BOXFIT classes, as this was and always will be my first and biggest passion!
In 2007 I decided to step back from my career and focus on starting my family and spending as much time as I could with my children over their early years. I have spent some amazing quality time with my children, in the bush, at the beach, and exploring rivers. This I would not have changed for anything.
As they have grown I have stepped in and out of the gym, teaching classes and working part time, but over the last few years, felt ready to invest time back into doing what I love most.
Training and educating clients to become the best version of themselves, through increased awareness of their nutrition, learning to love their bodies, and gaining the confidence to believe they are strong and powerful, physically and emotionally.
My love for fitness has seen me compete for New Zealand at a national and international level in Olympic style boxing. Over my years as a competitive boxer, I gained titles such as North Island Golden Glove champion, NZ Champion and silver at the Oceania Games, among many other wins. I have always had a love of endurance races, and this has seen me push myself through the rigors of races such as, Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge, Rotorua Flyer, and swim across LakeTaupoamong numerous over races.
Since starting my family, I have stood back from the life of a competitive athlete and learnt how to balance my love of fitness and training with my family life. I love to feel fit and strong, and prefer training that incorporates weight training, functional training, HIT/Tabata training, and outside cardio during the warmer months. My goal for myself and my children is to stay fit and be the best role model I can be, instilling a love for exercise and health into their lives.
